PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit that production of unintended color conversion is avoided in the case of logic arithmetic processing so as to obtain a processed image with high image quality. SOLUTION: For this image processing unit, an input color conversion section 1 converts an RGB color space into a CMYK color space, a 1st color conversion section 2 converts the converted color space into a CMY color space regarding an object area for logic arithmetic operation processing, and a logic arithmetic section 3 conducts logic arithmetic processing. Then a 2nd color conversion section 4 converts the logical arithmetic result into a CMYK color space. Meanwhile, a pixel value comparison section compares color values in the CMY color space before and after the logic arithmetic operation by the logic arithmetic section 3, and an output image selection section 6 selects the color value that has been color-converted by the input color conversion section 1, if they match. Thus, when the color value of the image is not changed as a result of the logical arithmetic processing, since the color value in the original CMYK color space is adopted for an output result, unintended color conversion by the 1st and 2nd color conversion sections 2, 4 will not be generated. |
