PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device of which internal resistance is reduced to enhance its capacity by forming, along the circumferential direction of a battery can, a slot part in the bottomed cylinder-shaped battery can having an air hole in its bottom face, and fixing a disc-like air electrode arranged at the bottom of the battery can by catching it with the bottom face and the slot part of the battery can. SOLUTION: This air battery 1 is provided with a battery can 2 an air electrode 3, a separator 4, a negative electrode mix 5, a negative electrode terminal plate 6, a current collecting pin 7, a sealing member 8 and a reinforcing member 9. In the air battery 1, a slot part 12 is so formed along the circumference of the battery can 2 as to catch the air electrode 3 in, and the slot part 12 and the bottom face 2a of the battery can 2 are compressed in the height direction of the battery can 2. Thereby, the air electrode 3 is caught in by the slot part 12 and the bottom face 2a, and the air electrode 3 is fixed to the bottom of the battery can 2. In the air battery 1, the slot part 12 formed in the battery can 2 abuts on a collector of the air electrode 3, so that the electrical connection of the air electrode 3 with the battery can 2 is improved and accordingly, high capacity is provided by reducing internal resistance. |
