PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DTR material which does not exhibit white spots on an image area and horseshoe marks on a non-image area after exposure and development as a DTR material for the manufacture of a planographic printing plate having excellent printing performance. SOLUTION: The roughened and anodically oxidized surface of an aluminum substrate are successively coated with (i) an image receiving layer contg. physical developing nuclei, (ii) a photosensitive layer contg. a silver halide emulsion and having water permeability relation with the image receiving layer and, optionally, (iii) a stress resistant layer contg. unhardened gelatin and having water permeability relation with the image receiving layer to produce the objective image forming element. In this method, the aluminum substrate is brought into contact with a guide roller heated at 35-70 deg.C at the time of coating with the photosensitive layer. |
