REGULATION METHOD FOR FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

A method of regulating gas pressure, in particular excessive pressure, in a dual fluid injection system for an internal combustion engine having delivery injector(s). In this method, gas pressure is determined and if it is above a desired level the delivery injector(s) is/are opened for a determined time, separate to that for fuel injection, so as to decrease the gas pressure of the gas supply. The reduction may have to be achieved by multiple releases over successive engine cycles. The method of regulation may supplement, or compensate for faults in conventional gas pressure regulation systems.
