EQUIPMENT FOR FETCHING, TRANSPORTING AND EMPTYING A CONTAINER

The present invention relates to equipment for fetching, transporting and empyting a container (10) over the edge of a larger vessel and releasably attachable to a mobile lifting unit (3), e.g., a forklift truck. The equipment is pivotally mounted on a horizontal shaft included in said equipment. According to the invention, the equipment includes a geenrally horizontal holder part (2) having an outer cradle part (4) which is adapted to be stationary in relation to the mobile lifting unit (3). Also included is an inner cradle part (7) which is tiltable or rotatable relative to the outer cradle part (4) and which has mechanical gripping devices (8a) intended for coaction with corresponding devices (10a) on the container (10). Automatically operating locking devices (9) are provided in said equipment and function to hold the container (10) firmly during emptying of said container.
