Cosmetic agents, especially hair cosmetics, comprise water-soluble or water dispersible polymers comprising e.g. alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s), alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid(s), compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least 5 alkylene oxide units per molecule. Cosmetic agent contains at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer comprising: (a) alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s) of formula (I): (b) alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid(s); (c) compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least 5 alkylene oxide units per molecule; (d) compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least one 8-30C alkyl or alkylene group per molecule, and where (c) and/or (d) can be partially or fully replaced by (e); (e) compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond, at least 5 alkylene oxide units per molecule, and at least one 8-30C alkyl or alkylene group per molecule; R<1> = H or 1-8C alkyl; X<1> = O or NR<2>; R<2> = H, 1-8C alkyl or 5-8C cycloalkyl; An Independent claim is also included for the use of polymers as above as aiding materials in cosmetics (especially in hair cosmetics), in pharmacy, in coatings for the textile, paper, printing, leather and adhesive industries. |
