The drive system has a drive rod (1) mounted in a fixed position with a first thread, and a runner element (3) attached to the lift cabin (5) with a second thread corresp. to the first thread by which it is connected to the guide rod. The guide rod has an external thread and the runner element an internal thread. The drive rod is driven rotatably about its thread axis. An Independent claim is also included for an elevator for persons and/or loads.
