<p>A method for producing a styrenic compound/aromatic compound adduct by feeding a styrenic compound and an aromatic compound as reaction materials to a fixed-bed flow reactor packed with a solid acid catalyst in a liquid phase at a temperature in a range of 40 to 350 °C, wherein (1) the feed of the materials is stopped when the bromine number of a reaction mixture is increased up to a predetermined value, (2) an aromatic hydrocarbon feed having a mean value of the proportion of aromatic hydrocarbons in a molecule of 55 % or more is fed to the reactor in a liquid phase at a temperature higher by 5 to 150 °C than that of a reaction mixture just before stopping the feed of the materials, and then (3) the feed of reaction materials are restarted. The method can be used for producing a low bromine number fraction primarily comprised of a styrenic compound/aromatic compound adduct.</p> |
