Use of hyaluronic acid fragments in vaccine production, especially for cancer treatment

Use of optionally modified low molecular weight hyaluronic acid fragments for the production of a vaccine is new. Low molecular weight and optionally modified hyaluronic acid (HA) fragments are used for the production of a vaccine. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a method for the enrichment of dendritic cells, comprising: (a) separating mononuclear cells from blood; (b) concentrating cells having the CD14 surface marker; (c) cultivating the cells obtained in (b) in a medium containing GM-CSF and IL-4 cytokines; and (d) cultivating the cells obtained in (c) with the HA fractions; (ii) the use of the enriched dendritic cells for the production of a vaccine; (iii) a vaccine containing an antigen or peptide, an HA fragment (optionally chemically modified) and optionally a carrier system; (iv) a system containing an HA fragment coupled with an antigen or peptide; and (v) a vaccine containing a system (iv).
