The warp is divided into three sections (10,11,12). Yarn guides and grippers take the cut ends (8a,8b,9a,9b) of the weft yarns (8,9) into a turn-over zone (2,3) formed in the outer warp sections (11,12). Weft from one fabric layer is taken into the opposite fabric layer and the weft ends are staggered along the length of the fabric.
