The invention relates to a device and method for the production of multiphase tablets using a standard rotary press. Said method and device use bottom punches which consist of two partial punches (2, 3) which can be displaced independently from, and parallel in relation to, each other. This permits the production of multiphase moulded pieces (7) without the need for complex transfer and centering devices or the precompaction of cores for insertion into tablets.
