The method uses a measuring probe (3) fitted in a measuring chamber before the measuring chamber is positioned in the drainage pipe (1), with subsequent filling of the chamber with a conductive liquid or gas when the required measuring position is reached. An Independent claim is also included for a pipe leakage detection device.
