A device to pick up current from a conductor rail (3) by at least one roller (2) that is located e.g. on a running wagon, has at least one further roller, assigned to the first roller, at a distance on the same conductor rail. At least one further conductor rail is provided, at a distance from the first, on which at least two rollers roll to pick up current. Each roller has one terminal (11.1,11.2) connected to an electrical load, especially an electric motor. A contact spring (12) runs from the terminal to the roller periphery. The roller can be moved against the force of a spiral spring (6) away from the conductor rail.
