<p> An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus the received wave signal of which has a small distortion due to in-vivo ununiformity and which has a small circuit scale with good accuracy to lead to high resolution of the ultrasonic image, comprising a probe adapted for transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic pulse to and from a subject and having array elements, delay means for delaying a received wave signal from each of the elements of the probe, adding means connected to the respective outputs of the delay means in series and adapted to add the output signals of the preceding stage so as to form an ultrasonic beam, correlating means for carrying out a correlation operation of two or more output signals from the adding means, and delay correcting means for estimating from the time difference between adjacent signals outputted from the correlating means the corrected values of delay the number of which is equal to the number of the input signals to the delay means and for thereby correcting the delay time given to the received wave signal.</p> |
