The lock cylinder for a motor vehicle has a core (10) with a radial cut out, for a spring (50), connected via a radial slit (54) with the rotary disc (30) receiving axial bore (11) of the cylinder (10). The spring has a radially inwardly extending shank (29) extending from the slit and a radial shoulder (36) engaging the radial disc (30).
