An optical polycarbonate resin molding material characterized in that a tota l content of (A) substances having a 5 % loss temperature at starting in thermogravimetry of 400 ~C or less in the molding material is 1 wt.% or less ; an optical polycarbonate resin molding material characterized in that a tota l content of (A) substances having a 5 % loss temperature at starting in thermogravimetry of 400 ~C or less in the molding material is 1 wt.% or less and the content of sodium compounds is 1 ppm or less in terms of sodium; and an optical disk molded from these molding materials. The use of the aforementioned molding material allows a continuous molding of an optical di sk substrate, and the resulting disk substrate has high quality as an optical disk of a high density recording medium and can maintain a high degree of reliability for a long period.
