The filter panel (1) which can be inserted into a sealed housing has a frame (2) containing a plaited fabric filter pack (4), able to be cleaned by direct blasting with compressed air. The clean side of the fabric pleats (8) are held by friction against a support web (11), or alternatively the apexes of the pleats may be secured to the web by point gluing. The ratio of free/open surface to closed/ support surface is in excess of 70%. Preferred Features: The fabric web is glass fiber, wire, plastics thread or filament. The adhesive is polyurethane. Both the dirty side and the clean side of the pleats may be supported by webs.
