Pantograph with current pick-up by means of rotary cylinders

The pantograph includes a system for picking up current by means of one or more rotary cylinders 2 in such a manner that said cylinders run under the catenary wire constituting the elements for picking up the current powering the vehicle. Rotation of the cylinders may be active (regulated speed of rotation) or passive (unregulated speed of rotation). Active rotation may be achieved by means of a mechanism which transmits the rotation of the wheels of the vehicle to the cylinders or, alternatively, by means of one or more electric motors. Passive rotation is generated by the actual pick-up system and it minimises the waste produced by friction between the catenary wire and the current-pick-up element. <IMAGE>
