Non-destructive method for determining the quality of anodic welding and improvement of contacts. With this method the sample under test remains intact for subsequent use. As the temperature in welding is increased, the ions produced in one of the materials being welded are provided with sufficient mobility for them to move away from the surface when the potential difference is applied between these materials. Being attracted by the negative electrode a depleted layer is formed at the surface which generates enormous electrostatic attraction, coming into contact and welding. As the electrostatic pressure increases a larger area of the two materials comes into contact and the welding is better. A test was performed making cavities with very controlled depths on one of the surfaces to be welded, preferably on the metal or semi-conductor. A star electrode is used which prevents the formation of bubbles through the trapping of air. <IMAGE>
