1,160,447. Golf bag support. STANDEASY CO. Ltd. 1 Sept., 1966, No. 39117/66. Heading A6D. A folding stand attachable to an unstable article, e.g. a golf-bag, comprises a member 1, made of round rod having a U-form foot 2 to be disposed beneath the bottom of the golf bag and two upright limbs 3. This member is attached in suitable manner to the wall of the bag. At a suitable distance above the foot 2 a bent element 4 is welded between the limbs 3, and a pair of legs 5 are pivotally mounted on the inclined parts of the element 4. The lower end of each of the legs 5 has a ball foot 6 and the upper ends are embraced within the curve of a U-form plate 7 which has in its wings a pair of aligned holes by which the plate is pivotally mounted on the element 4. Each of the plates 7 has drilled in its wings another pair of aligned holes holding a pin 8 upon which is articulated the upper end of one of two actuating struts 9 forming part of a unitary displacing member 10 having a U-form base 11 substantially at right angles to the struts 9. The lower parts of these struts are guided loosely in a stirrup 12, 13 of strip metal welded across the lower parts of the limbs 3. The arrangement of the stand is such that in the folded position the foot 11 of the displacing member 10 projects beyond the foot 2 of the attachment member 1 and the ball feet 6 of the pivoted legs 5. When the bag is set down the foot 11 of the displacing member first contacts the ground and under the weight of the bag this member is moved upwards relatively to the attachment member 1 so as to turn the plate mountings 7 of the legs 5 until the foot 11 lies within the foot 2 of the attachment member 1 and both of these feet are resting on the ground; the legs 5 are displaced outwards to the position 5A thus giving a three-point support to the bag.
|
