PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper pivot to eliminate the possibility for a protrusion obstacle to occur due to protrusion of a member even when a vehicle is brought into a clash state. SOLUTION: In a pivot holder 10, a pivot shaft 22 is rotatably supported at a pivot holder 12. A washer 28 is arranged at the tip part of the pivot holder 12, a stopper 30 is fixed on a pivot shaft 22, and axially downward movement of the pivot shaft 22 is regulated. The washer 28 has a given withstand load regulating the movement of the pivot shaft 22 until a load exerted axially on the pivot shaft 22 attains a given value, and when an input exceeding the withstand load is effected, axial movement regulation is released. Thus, by setting the withstand load of the washer 28 to a suitable value, the pivot shaft 22 is retracted in the pivot holder 12, the possibility for the protrusion obstacle to occur is eliminated.
