PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit necessary manufacturing and assembling costs at relatively low levels by performing an emergency operation with a relatively small force, and in this case performing the operation with a relatively small number of mechanical constituting members. SOLUTION: This device adjusts the movable member (especially, a slide roof, window or the like) of a vehicle by an operation motor 10 freely switchable a rotational direction. In this case, a power feeding circuit having a pole changing switch device 13 for steadily connecting the operation motor mechanically to the movable member 1 and selectively setting the rotational direction of the operation motor is provided in the operation motor. The power feeding circuit is short-circuited to brake the operation motor when the movable member reaches a desired position. The device supplies power to the power feeding circuit of the operation motor in both rotational directions and for desired short-circuit braking, but if no current flows to the pole changing switch device, semiconductor devices 24 and 25 for suppressing the power supply to the power feeding circuit at least sufficiently, and thus preventing the short- circuit braking of the operation motor are provided.
