PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To plan the optimum physical distribution of a material leading cost to the minimum. SOLUTION: In this planning method for the physical distribution of a material, many proposed sites for the primary material depot 12 are previously nominated. Information input is applied to current prices for a location for each proposed site, and land, acceptance processes, the area of the secondary material depot 16. A proposed site of the primary material depot 12 and its area are established. Calculation is made to the land cost for the primary material depot 12, the first transport cost for transportation from a factory 10 to the primary material depot 12, and the secondary transport cost for transportation from the primary material depot 12 to the secondary material depot 16. Each cost is calculated for all the proposed sites of the primary material depot 12, and the maximum possible areas. The proposed site of the primary material depot 12 and its area led to the minimum sum of each cost are regarded as the optimum ones. |
