PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a direct recording imaging apparatus in which developing agent is prevented from scattering by forming a recording medium to suppress the motion in the vertical or horizontal direction of the developing agent flying above the recording medium. SOLUTION: The direct recording imaging apparatus comprises a toner carrier 31 for carrying charged toners, a control electrode having a plurality of gates for passing toner particles T, and a counter electrode 11 disposed oppositely to the toner carrier through the control electrode wherein restitution coefficient e=|Vo/Vi|is set equal to or smaller than 0.7 assuming Vo is the speed of toner particle impinging onto a recording medium 9 and Vi is the speed of toner particle reflecting on the recording medium 9.
