PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a double-hung window structure by which the indoor side can be ventilated and privacy can be protected, by fixing the lower sliding screen of the double-hung window and providing a stopper for limitting the movable range within a higher zone than one' eye, in the vertically silidable upper sliding screen. SOLUTION: A window frame 3 is attached to an opening of a building 1 and an upper sliding screen 4 is made vertically slidable and a lower sliding screen 5 is fixedly fitted. The double-hung window is vertically long so as to almost reach the floor face. Stoppers 8 are attached to the right and left middle parts of the upper sliding screen frame 6 to limit the movable range so that it can be lowered only down to a position where it comes into contact with the lower sliding screen 5. The movable range of the upper end of the upper sliding screen 4 is restricted within a higher range than one's eye but it can be restricted in a level 1600 mm above the floor face. The stopper may be fitted to the peripheral face in the window frame of the upper sliding screen frame. In this way, when the upper sliding screen is opened for ventilation, it makes the indoor side invisible and privacy and be protected and further, a bright room can be secured.
