摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying the surface of a zirconia sintered product, capable of increasing the strength of the zirconia sintered product and preventing a low temperature deterioration phenomenon by placing the zirconia sintered product and a Si compound in an atmosphere-adjustable oven, allowing H2-H2O gas to flow in the oven to evaporate the Si compound, and converting the evaporated Si compound into a SiOx state to form a silica/zircon layer on the surface of the sintered product. SOLUTION: This method for modifying the surface of a zirconia sintered product comprises charging an atmospheric gas mixed with H2-H2O gas (H2O >=0.1%) in a specific ratio to adjust the partial pressure of oxygen in an atmosphere-adjusting oven, placing the powder of SiC as a source for supplying SiOx in the atmosphere- adjusting oven, placing a zirconia sintered product in a state inclined at an angle of about 20 deg. at a position apart from the powder of the SiC, and subsequently maintaining the temperature in the atmosphere-adjusting oven in the state within a range of 1,300-1,500 deg.C for several hr to form a silica/zircon layer on the surface of the zirconia sintered product. Thereby, a crack-blunting phenomenon for blunting the sharp edges of cracks existing in the surface of the zirconia sintered product is generated to increase the strength of the zirconia sintered product, and the infiltration of water is further inhibited to prevent the reaction of the surface.
