PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently forming a two stage joint to the painted coat on an interior or exterior wall or a floor of a building in order to prevent cracking or to improve the design and appearance. SOLUTION: This is a method for forming a two stage joint on a coated surface of a liquid-shaped component. At first, a flat board shaped joint bar 12 is adhered to a predetermined position of a surface to be coated 11, then the liquid-shaped component 16 is coated including this portion and, after the coat is hardened without flowing, this flat board-shaped joint bar 12 is removed and the first stage joint is formed. Next, a portion with a narrow width of the joint bar having a convex-shaped cross section is adhered to the first stage joint portion, the liquid-shaped component including said portion is painted again and, after it is hardened without flowing, the convex-shaped joint bar is removed.
