PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a funnel for mold sprue having a new structure which omits a space of the sprue part used for a pouring hole of molten metal into a mold body and can assemble a filter material for removing impurities in the molten metal and detect the rising of the molten metal from the mold body, with respect to the pouring hole of the molten metal into the mold. SOLUTION: The funnel body 1 is formed with a molding sand so as to be in a communicating state vertically with a runner part 4 between a molten metal receiving part 2 opened at the upper part and a filter material fitting part 3 opened at the lower part. On the other hand, this funnel for mold sprue is the one beforehand fitting and integrating the filter piece body 6 from the lower part with the filter material fitting part 3 in the funnel body 1 or assembling the filter piece body 6 with the funnel body 1 so as to enable fitting of the filter piece body 6 at the stage of using.
