PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fluctuation stage of a front part of a bubble in a liquid ejecting head from being disturbed due to the growing of the rear part in the stage of the transition of the bubble from the growing of the front to the contraction of the rear part. SOLUTION: A heating resistor 2 for generating a bubble 40 in a liquid, a movable member 31 which is deformed along with the growing of the bubble 40 and a stopper 64 that restricts the deformation of the movable member 31 in a desired range are provided to a bubble generating region 11 in a liquid passage 10 which is communicated to an ejection nozzle 18 for the liquid. A region passing through a range from a side end of the ejection nozzle 18 of the heating resistor 2 to a central section thereof and the center of the ejection nozzle 18 is in a straight communication condition wherein only the liquid can be existing. The movable member 31 has a free end 32 at a position opposite the central section of the bubble generating region 11 in a stand-by condition. The free end 32 is substantially contacted to the stopper 64, then a maximum liquid passage resistance of the liquid passage is formed at the upstream side rather than the bubble generating region 11 so that components of the maximum bubble at the upstream side is made roughly constant.
