PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To moderate the angle change between a self-traveling part and a load-carrying platform by in the transfer from a flat surface to a staircase by providing a front crawler traveling device and a rear crawler traveling device, and supporting the load-carrying platform in such a manner as to be rockable around a connecting shaft for supporting the front crawler traveling device to a support frame. SOLUTION: When a self-traveling staircase moving device A starts to go up a staircase from a lower flat surface, a front crawler traveling device 1a is relatively gently raised so that its longitudinal traveling surface is suspended over the height for one step of the staircase, and the angle between a load- carrying platform 7 horizontally held with a connecting shaft 6 that is the rotating center of the front crawler traveling device 1a the rocking center and the line connecting both the connecting parts of a support frame 5a connecting the front and rear crawler traveling devices 1a, 2a is also gently changed. When the rear crawler traveling device 2a is situated on the staircase, the angle of the traveling part 3 becomes a fixed angle along the staircase inclination, and the angle change with the load-carrying platform 7 laid in horizontal state is 0.
