PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the use of a screw cutting method for cutting the screw to a contact strip by inserting the bottom surface and the side surface or the carbon base contact strip with a metal, integrally combining the carbon base contact strip exposing the top surface and the inserting metal body and reinforcing the carbon base contact strip with the inserting metal body. SOLUTION: In this rectangular carbon base contact strip to be formed previously, the width of the top surface 1a of the carbon base contact strip is made narrower than the width of the bottom surface 1b of the carbon base contact strip to incline the side surface 1d thereof and a recessed part 1c for forming a boss part for cutting the screw is formed at a necessary position. This contact strip is put into a mold and a molten metal is poured to form an inserting metal body 2 in the state of exposing only the top surface 1a of the carbon base contact strip. At the time of inserting with the molten metal, extending parts 2b and 2c extended to the outer parts from the both end parts of the boss part 2a for cutting the screw and the carbon base contact strip 1, and formed. In the both parts 2a for cutting the screw and the extending parts 2b, 2c, screw holes 2d are formed with the post work.
