PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely extract an existing pile by a simple means. SOLUTION: A large-diameter casing 2 is embedded in a surround manner while rotating the casing 2 larger in diameter than the outside diameter of the existing pile 1, until the depth of the existing pile 1, and after a through hole is made along the axis of the existing pile 1, a long suspension member 6 is inserted in the through hole, a lower tip of the long suspension member 6 is inserted slightly deeper than a deepest part of the through hole, the lower tip of the long suspension member 6 is expanded and hooked to a bottom end of the existing pile. By pulling up the long suspension member 6 from an upper part, the existing pile 1 is also pulled up and the existing pile 1 is extracted at the same time. A process to make the through hole along the axis of the existing pile 1 may be simultaneously effected with a process in which the existing pile 1 is embedded. To extract the pile while repeating the process where an upper part of the existing pile 1 is cut short and removed when the existing pile is slightly pulled up is preferable since it facilitates a work in a narrow place.
