PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject inhibitor capable of producing a constitution (intestinal canal) for preventing recurrence of inflammation by including a whey protein hydrolyzate. SOLUTION: This inhibitor comprises a whey protein hydrolyzate. The whey protein hydrolyzate is preferably an oligopeptide mixture obtained by hydrolyzing an aqueous solution of whey protein with two kinds of enzymes of endopeptidase and trypsin derived from Bacillus subtilis or three kinds of enzymes of endopeptidase, trypsin and chymotrypsin derived from Bacillus subtilis and deactivating or removing the enzymes. For example, a whey protein obtained by purifying a whey by a routine procedure such as an ion exchange method, etc., may be cited as the whey protein useful as a preferable starting raw material for producing the oligopeptide mixture.
