<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition for direct reproduction through ink jet printing system having excellent resolution, lipid-sensitivity and plate wear, and to provide a method for direct reproduction using the ink composition. SOLUTION: This ink composition is such one as to use in direct reproduction through hydrophilicizing the non-demarcating line portions of the original plate after forming a lipid-sensitive image, through ink jet printing, on the surface of the original plate having a resin layer containing zinc oxide or titanium oxide on a support. In this case, the ink composition comprises a non-aqueous solvent having an electric resistance of >=109Ωcm and a dielectric constant of <=3.5, a dispersion stabilizer and lipid-sensitive resin particles wherein the lipid-sensitive resin particles are practically insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent in the presence of the dispersion stabilizer and have a particle diameter of <=500 nm; and the minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) of the lipid- sensitive image composition is <20 deg.C.</p> |
