<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of improving dispersibility of a pigment in a color matter layer and smoothing a color filter without damaging color separation properties, antireflection and display contrast by bringing the composition to contain a surface-treated inorganic pigment. SOLUTION: This composition contains an inorganic pigment (e.g. Fe2O3, etc.), the surface of which is treated with silicon dioxide. The said treated pigment is obtained, e.g. by preparing an aqueous suspension of the inorganic pigment, continuously measuring and mixing the said inorganic pigment to an aqueous silicate solution, adding an acid such as HCl or the like and/or a base such as NaOH or the like, keeping the pH of the reaction mixture in a range in which a metal salt is hydrolyzed and reacting at 20-80 deg.C in pH 3-12.</p> |
