PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct synthetic method of methylchlorosilane, by which the productivity can be raised while maintaining the selectivity in relation to methyldichlorosilane by Muller-Rochow. SOLUTION: This direct synthesis of methylchlorosilane comprising a reaction of methyl chloride with a catalyst composition comprising silicon, a copper catalyst, a zinc cocatalyst, and a tin cocatalyst and/or an antimony cocatalyst is carried out by using the catalyst composition activated by the pretreatment with HCI. |
