PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the presence/absence and position of a core tablet so as to greatly reduce a detection error by providing plural core tablet transfer bodies which move at a prescribed speed while holding a core tablet in its inside and inserting the core tablets in every mortar, and a measurement means which measures the passing time interval of the core tablet passing a measuring point arranged on the moving locus of the core tablet transfer bodies. SOLUTION: A measuring means 4 is constituted by arranging a core detection body 6 on the moving locus K of a core tablet transfer body 3 and a rotary encorder 7, etc., to a rotary board 11, by which the passing time and time width of a core tablet P are measured. The core tablet detection body 6 uses a light LT as a medium and its light receiving element receives a light LT emitted from a light emitting element at a measuring point X, and the body 6 outputs a core tablet passing signal Sg1 as two-value signals representing irradiating/non-irradiating states. The core tablet passing signal Sg1 is such that a light receiving quantity of the light receiving element is HIGH in the case the core tablet P is not present and LOW in the case of being present. By this method, since the presence/absence and position of the core tablet P are detected, detection error is greatly reduced so that detection reliability is enhanced.
