PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording material applicable to a semiconductor laser, the oscillation wavelength of which lies in a short wavelength by a method wherein a recording layer includes an azo compound represented by a specified structural formula and, at the same time, at least one kind of an azo metal chelate compound made of a metal with a specified valence or of its salt. SOLUTION: A recording layer includes an azo compound represented by a specified structural formula and, at the same time, at least one kind of an azo metal chelate compound made of a bivalent or trivalent metal or its salt. In the formula, X is a carboxy group, an amino group, an amide group, a sulfone group, a sulfonamide group or either one of their derivatives. R1 and R2 are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group and a phenyl group. R3-R8 represent either one of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a hydroxyl group, a carboxy group, an alkyl group, a phenyl group and an alkoxy group. By adapting the dye stuff having the above-mentioned structure as a main component, this medium can be employed to a system with a semiconductor laser, the oscillation wavelength of which lies in a short wavelength. |
