PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst reducing apparatus which tells the reduction end time of the catalyst containing an oxide as a main component and a reduction percentage surely to reduce the catalyst correctly and allows to estimate the mass of the catalyst supported on a carrier. SOLUTION: A catalyst 26 containing an oxide as a main component is placed in a reduction means 20. With the use of a reducing gas supply means 30 (e.g. steam reforming apparatus for methanol), a reducing gas containing carbon monoxide is supplied to the reducing means 20, the concentration of at least one of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide contained in gas discharged from the reducing means 20 is measured continuously with the use of a concentration measuring means 40 to order to judge a reduction end time, a reduction percentage, the quantity of the supported catalyst, and others. |
