PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degradation of image quality due to scattered radiation generated inside an object in a radiation image photographing device using a radiation solid detector. SOLUTION: Between a radiation source 8 for emitting radiation and the radiation solid detector 10 of an improved type direct conversion system for reading latent image charges carrying image information by a stripe-like electrode, a grid plate 16 for leading out only the radiation from a specified direction to the radiation solid detector 10 is provided. For the grid plate 16, the spatial frequency fC of the pitch of the stripe-like electrode 15a is made more than the double of the spatial frequency fG of a grid pitch or a difference from the spatial frequency fC of the pitch of the stripe-like electrode is made more than 1 (cycle/mm). It is more preferable when this device is provided with an image processing means for attenuating signal components carrying the spatial frequency fG of the grid pitch or the signal components carrying a moire frequency generated by the grid plate 16 among image signals read by the radiation solid detector 10.
