PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in a car height when an external air temperature is increased in a damper equipped with a car height adjusting function, where a car height adjusting portion having a gas-liquid changed pressure medium sealed in is provided in the damper, the pressure medium is gas-liquid changed by a heat source such as a heater, and a car height is increased by operating the damper in an extending side by the vapor pressure of the pressure medium. SOLUTION: A jacket portion 20 is formed in a car height adjusting portion 11, a reservoir tank 21 for storing cooling liquid such as water and a pump 22 are provided, cooling water is circulated between the jacket portion 20 and the reservoir tank 21 by operating the pump 22 when a temperature is high to cool a pressure medium, and its vapor pressure is lowered. Also, a unit is constituted by directly connecting the outlet of the reservoir tank 21 to the suction port of the pump 22, and this unit is attached to a damper.
