PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously realize solidity and high buffer performance by providing an air tube with a torus-like foamed material hollow body which includes many hollow spaces for receiving air or gas and can be reversibly deformed. SOLUTION: In an air tube 7, a torus-like foamed material hollow body 8 is disposed, and a space between a tire cover and a rim bed 2a is filled substantially by two-thirds in non-pressure state, and seated at the rim bed 2a in the traveling condition in the air filled state. The foamed material hollow body 8 is so constructed that a hollow space 9 containing compressed air is formed between an air stripe 5 forming a tire groove 4 and the foamed material hollow body 8, whereby the body 8 is selected to such a size that constant air pressure is produced extending over the whole periphery of a traveling wheel 1 in the air filled state. To distribute pressure uniformly, the torus-like foamed material hollow body 8 is formed by synthetic material having many hollow spaces which can be reversibly deformed and sealed to store air. |
