PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polycarbodiimide polymer which is useful for a one-can coating material which is clear, is excellent in weatherability and moisture resistance, quickly adheres to many substrates, and has excellent adhesive properties by forming a specific molecular structure contg. polycarbodiimide blocks and modified blocks. SOLUTION: This polycarbodiimide polymer has a structure represented by formula I. In formula I, m>=1; n>=1; (p) is 0 or 1; each R1 is a monomeric or a polymeric substance having only one isocyanate-reactive group; each R2 is a group derived from a diisocyanate selected from all the usable aliph., alicyclic, and blocked arom. diisocyanates; R3 is a polymer block formed in advance; and X is a combination of any one of formula II, formula III, formula IV, or formula V. Examples of R3 are a polyester, a polyacrylate, a polyurethane, a polyether, polyethylene, a polycarbonate, a polyurea, and a polysiloxane.
