PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an seismic reinforcing structure for an existing column reinforcing the existing column receiving a high axial force, while effectively utilizing superior economic efficiency and workability by winding up spiral hoops. SOLUTION: This seismic reinforcing structure is provided with a first spiral hoop 1 arranged around the external face of an existing column 31 with its spaced at specified intervals, a second spiral hoop 11 arranged outside the first spiral hoop 1 spaced at specified intervals, and inside and outside mortar 57, 67 which fill clearance between the spiral hoops 1, 11 and cover over them. The first and the second spiral hoops 1, 11 are so arranged that one is positioned in the center of the other and both are wound around mutually in the same direction.
