PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct operation even at the horizontal place of operation and the place of operation having a stepped section by the same scaffold base. SOLUTION: The built-up type scaffold base has a first ladder 10 having two supports 11, 12 and horizontal muntins 13 installed between these supports, a second ladder 20 having the two supports 21, 22 and horizontal muntins 23 mounted between these supports 21, 22 and a footstool 30 set up to these two ladders 10, 20. The second ladder 20 has two main support sections 21a, 22a having small-diametral fitting sections at front end sections and two sub-support sections 21b, 22b fitted to the small-diametral fitting sections, and the second ladder 20 can be expanded and contracted by drawing out the sub-support sections 21b, 22b from the main support sections 21a, 22a. Accordingly, the footstool 30 can be held horizontally to both ladders 10, 20 even in a bedrock having a stepped section and the horizontal bedrock having no stepped section.
