PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil fence capable of effecting developing and recovering works thereof even on board a small ship. SOLUTION: An oil fence comprises a flexible buoyant body (a highly water- soluble gas chamber) 21, a skirt 2, a weight 3, a gas pipe 4, and a water pipe 5. The skirt 2, the weight 3, the gas pipe 4 to blow the highly water-soluble gas into the buoyant body 21, and the water pipe 5 to flow water in the buoyant body 21 are fitted to the buoyant body 21. When the oil fence is developed, the buoyancy is given to the buoyant body 21 by blowing the highly water-soluble gas into the buoyant body 21 through the gas pipe 4. When the oil fence is recovered, the highly water-soluble gas in the buoyant body 21 is solved in water by pouring a small amount of water into the buoyant body 21 through the water pipe 5 to reduce the volume of the buoyant body (highly water-soluble gas chamber) 21.
