PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire saw having a relatively simple structure and being excellent in grinding capacity and durability. SOLUTION: This wire saw 10 has a constitution wherein grinding members 11 formed by fixing abrasive diamond grains by a brazing method on the surfaces of base metals having wire through holes are disposed at prescribed intervals on a wire rope 21. In this case, a tapered part of which the diameter is made smaller toward the direction of advance of the base metal than that of a main body part is formed at least on the fore end side in the direction of advance of the metal and, moreover, an edge part having the same diameter as the minimum diameter of the tapered part is formed in continuity to the tapered part.
