PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately fix a traveler at a preset position in a main pipe together with a nozzle-mounted head during high pressure water injection to ensure opening work. SOLUTION: In a device for opening a branch opening C of a branch pipe B blocked by a lining tube P on the inner face of a main pipe A, a nozzle- mounted head 3 is connected to a traveller 2 travelling in the main pipe A via a connection shaft 4 and a high pressure water spray nozzle 5 is mounted on the head 3 for cutting the tube P of the branch opening C. The traveller 2 includes an oscillation driving means 8 for oscillating the head 3 at a required angle range, traveling guide rods 7, 7 supported on the inner face of the pipe A, a push member 10 located at both front and rear ends of the traveler 2 and a cylinder 11 for pushing the push member 10 against the inner face of the main pipe A to fix the traveler 2 in the bridged condition together with the traveling guide rod 7.
