PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily machine because of a simple shape and stably mount on a holder by making wider the width of a clamp part than that of a cutting part, lowering the height to provide step difference on the upper face, and forming the bottom face into a chevron of V-section continued to the chevron of the cutting part bottom face. SOLUTION: This throw-away tip 1 is constituted of trade name Igetalloy(R) as a cemented carbide for cutting, the length (a) and the width (c) of cutting parts 2 both sides are respectively 8.5 mm and 2 mm, the roundness R and the depth (g) of a groove 5 are respectively 0.5 mm and 0.3 mm, the width (d) and the length (b) of a clamp part 3 on the center are respectively 4 mm and 6.5 mm, the whole thickness (f) is 4.7 mm, and step difference of 1 mm is provided between the cutting parts 2 and the clamp part 3. The cutting edge faces on both end parts are formed so that the lead angleαis 5 deg. and the clearance angleβis 14 deg.. By this constitution the shape of the clamp part is improved, and hence it can be fitted to a holder easily and surely.
