PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To teach the information on sewing work to a user in an easily understandable manner by including a display control means for displaying a teaching screen meeting sewing methods and sewing conditions on a display section when a sewing method selection switch and a sewing condition selection switch are manipulated. SOLUTION: When a user is going to know a method of using a sewing machine, etc., relating to the certain sewing method, the user sets a sewing method teaching card at the card insertion part of a selection manipulation section 25. When a card discrimination sensor detects this card, the selection manipulation section 25 and the display section 21, etc., are changed over to a mode for information teaching. The sewing method selection screen is first displayed on the display section 21 and the picture indicating the way of pressing the various display portions of the sewing method with the fingertips is displayed together with the characters, for example, 'Select the sewing method'. When the sewing method is selected, the screen is changed over to the selection screen for the sewing conditions. When for example, 'Blind Stitching' is selected, the kinds of the cloth, such as '1. Stretch fabric, 2. Ordinary fabric' are displayed on the display section to enable the user to make selection.
